17 May 2026 - Extra train for Longfield Station
South Eastern announce the reinstatement of trains to Blackfriars from Longfield and Meopham.  There is one train to Blackfriars in the morning at 7:54, and one in the evening from Blackfriars at 17:10.

04 June 2026 - Shoplifter stole to 'feed controlling partner's greed'
37 year old woman from Dartford jailed for 8 weeks.  Offences included theft from Longfield Co-op on 25 January and 2 February.

06 June 2026 - The Green Man in Longfield reopens after major revamp
Feature with pictures of the improvements and all the staff.  One feature is to make it dog friendly with a dog treat station.

11 June 2026 - Massive solar farm rejected again - but at what cost?
Plans for 49.9MW 235 acre solar farm near New Ash Green rejected by Sevenoaks Council.  Councillors went against officer recommendation to approve, even after being warned it could mean costs being awarded against the council if any appeal were successful.  Local campaigners were happy with the decision.

11 June 2026 - Empty centre to reopen as local hub after £360K deal
Former NHS children's centre in New Ash Green bought by the parish council.  They will use it as their offices and other community uses.

25 June 2026 - Fire Service cuts will put lives at risk'
Dartford MP campaigns against proposed cuts to Dartford and Thameside fire stations.  Both will see night time cover reduced from 2 engines to 1.  He points out that peak call out time is 4-11pm.

27 June 2026 - Residents gather to save post offices from closure in News Ash Green and Longfield
Piece on attempts to save local post offices.  Longfield's MP has lobbied the Post Office minister.  Paper interviews people in NAG who highlight problems if they had no post office.  Some shop owners say they would have nowhere to pay in money.

30 June 2026 - Emergency services attend railway tracks in Longfield, between Swanley and Rochester, after reports of a casualty
They were called at 10.50pm on Saturday.  Sadly a man was found dead.  Police say it is not suspicious.
