Census 1881
The 1881 Census recorded everyone who was present in Hartley on the night of 3 April 1881.
While the number of households had increased from the previous census from 52 to 64 the number of people living here was just two higher at 254. Longfield recorded a big increase in population over the 1871 census, showing the effect of the opening of Longfield Station in 1872.
