Bramblings, Bramblefield Close, Hartley
Bramblings Home from Fawkham Road
Bramblings was the former home of Sam Toy, the head of Ford UK. It became a care home with 12 beds in the 1970s but has since expanded to provide residential care for up to 42 people, enjoying grounds of 8 acres and views across the Fawkham Valley. According to their website "We deliver bespoke, person-centred care for residents, couples, respite care, and individuals living with dementia or learning disabilities."
Fairby Grange, Ash Road, Hartley
Fairby Grange
Built as a house in about 1685, then a mother and baby home, Fairby Grange became a retirement home in 1957. According to their website: "We are registered with the Care Quality Commission for the care of up to
twenty seven residents with both residential and early stage Dementia
and cooperate with them in every way to maintain our very high standards
of care and comfort for our residents." An Activities Officer helps to arrange visits to things going on outside the home in Hartley and New Ash Green.
Hazlewood Care Home, Longfield

A purpose built care home at Brickfield Farm, Main Road, which opened in 2000. They offer Dementia, Nursing, Residential, Respite and Palliative care. According to their website "Hazlewood Care Home's comprehensive facilities allow us to provide general nursing care to older people in our Primrose Unit on the ground floor, as well as dementia care with nursing needs in our Poppy Unit on the first floor."
Holywell Park, Hodsoll Street, Ash
A former 17th century country house, now converted into a care home for up to 51 residents. According to their website "Our dedicated team is committed to
offering a comprehensive range of care services, tailored to the unique
needs of each individual. This includes residential care, nursing care,
respite care, and specialised support for residents living with
dementia."
The home is run by Walden Care, who also has another care home at Betchworth in Surrey.
Old Downs Home, Hartley
Old Downs was once a private home built in 1887. It became a council care home in 1950, but closed by Kent Council Council in 1985. Since then it has been a private care home like the others listed here.
Old Downs is part of the Nellsar Group, who run 13 homes mostly in Kent. It has 41 rooms and offers residential and dementia care. The home offers a hair salon and nail bar among other things, and has its own minibus for trips out.
Russell Court Nursing Home, Hartley
A modern home opened in 2000, which is part of the Bramblefield Estate by Longfield Station. They offer 40 ensuite bedrooms. According to their website "
We offer high quality nursing care to the elderly and frail
Inc. end of life care and those with complex nursing needs. We also
offer dementia nursing care."
